Pine Gap helps Australia with Solar Install

Was just browsing the Australian Governments Alice Solar City website and discovered that the US Pine Gap Station will be helping the city of Alice spings with its Solar Project. The Pine Gap station is mostly staffed by people from the National Security Agency and engaged in ECHELON type activities, so I found it interesting to see them listed as “consortium members” on the project site. (Probably couldn’t hurt though I guess :/) The Solar project is

“designed to explore how solar power, energy efficient technologies and new approaches to electricity supply and pricing can encourage the residents of Alice Springs to become energy champions and develop a sustainable energy future”

I would just love to know what sort of assistance is being offered.

<end gossip>

    HHAHAHAH

    Yeah its pretty wacky stuff. a well hated top secret high level military installation providing support for a federal government Solar energy initiative. I wonder if someone from the facility actually comes to the consortium meetings here in town or if there is just a red telephone with a blinking light sitting on the table. If it is a real guy we should try and bail him up tie him down and spank his naked belly till he tells all… SO WHATS WITH THE DOMES BELLY BOY!!!

    I’ll ask around for more info.

    Ps. wonder if they will pick that one up? :)
