The Flip Side, back Downunder

Wow, What a trip. Just a short post to let you know I’m back safely on the Gold Coast in Australia. What a head spin - I have total jet lag.

Both legs of the trip (Frankfurt > Singapore > Brisbane) I was sitting close to crying babies, (although on the second flight it did sound more like a dieing alien). The Quantus entertainment system was great (except for the time when I had to watch an hour of the movie I had just seem play in reverse).

I met a nice German man on the first of the trip, and we found the Cactus Roof Top bar at the Singapore airport. Where we drank the lovely Tiger (Thai) beer in souring humidity at 30deg. Very Cool. But not as cold as the 2degC record breaking morning in Brisbane. Ouch!

Was a really clear sky when we arrived this morning in Brisbane, here is a photo to give you some idea what it was like.

First thing I did when I got back was buy a large banana smoothy (this this was massive - complete with fruit salad straw) then head down to Duranbah beach with Liam, my brother. He went for a body board, while I walked up and down the beach, and just about fell asleep in the sun, listening to the calming sound of the ocean. I realised how much I missed the sound of the ocean.

Now 11:30pm, I’m wide awake having just woken from a 7 hour nap. I know you are supposed to stay awake all day to try and recover from jet lag, however I think that assumes you have more that 4 hours sleep in two days, and don’t have a headache from crying/dieing babies.

I’ll write more as life unfolds,

Yours truely,

Nathan
